All members please make your decisions if you want a pubnite or not. I contacted the managers at SFU pub about the event and waiting for their reply. If you guys decided not to have a pub nite please inform me (babyg) on this forum asap.

So the forum idea for organizing events was no good, since noone really came here to discuss things. Also, committees never really worked out, so we're going to revert back to the original style of meetings that cover all our events.. the time consuming way.

Raffle tix. Each minimum-donation admission to the workshop gets you, say, 2 raffle tickets. (Minimum donation to be determined, but I support the perk idea, where minimum-donation admission < price of the tickets individually.) Tickets can go individually for, say, a few dollars (to offset the money spent on the iPod, of course). Prior to the event, having a table at the AQ is always good. There, we can sell extra tickets, with no obligation to attend the event, at the ticket's individual price.

Before we advertise, we have to make sure exactly what we're doing. What do we want to do to get ppl to come? Should we offer free snacks and beverages?
